Richardson Overview


Richardson is a principal city in Dallas, located 15 miles northeast of Downtown. Known for its affluent community, the city is home to several major telecommunication companies. A few examples include AT&T, Verizon, Cisco, and Samsung. Richardson is not limited to telecommunication, though. It also houses the headquarters for BlueCrosss BlueShield of Texas.

The city of Richardson is not finished growing, though. In the past few years, it has seen an increase of mixed-use and suburban development, mostly on the eastern side. Public transportation has also accompanied these new developments. These major developments have also fostered growth within the local economy. In 2008, Standard & Poor and Moody gave Richardson an AAA credit rating, which made it one of four cities with the premier grade at the time.
