Accommodation, transportation, and restaurants are naturally all well-represented around O’Hare but many other industries also flock to its commercial real estate. Information, professional, and financial services also have an extensive presence in the area along with manufacturing and health care.

The O’Hare 21 project can make the daily commute challenging for workers that drive into the area’s many businesses but many public transportation options serve as a convenient and time-saving alternative. CTA “L” trains continuously run to and from the airport as do Metra light rail lines from the Chicago suburbs. Along with the many taxis and ridesharing services, commuting into the O’Hare is a critical tool employers use to attract talent into their organizations.

The area around O’Hare also features several amenities that appeal to Chicagoland talent. Employees will find a wide variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options just a few minutes away. The Rosemont Theatre is a popular destination that stages professional productions including Broadway shows, comedians, dance shows, and musical acts throughout the year.

Allstate Arena is just north of I-90 and hosts several concerts and sporting events while the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines is just a short drive up I-294. Cook County’s Forest Preserves program maintains several parks, trails, and recreation centers near O’Hare including the Algonquin Woods and Schiller Woods for easy access to green space in the heart of Greater Chicago.
