Yellowstone Recovery Expands Outpatient Care in Orange County

For nearly three decades, Yellowstone Recovery has helped people in Orange County get affordable, thorough treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. Now the nonprofit is making room for more of that work, with new office space dedicated to outpatient counseling.

Affordable care since 1997

Yellowstone Recovery, legally Yellowstone Women's First Step House, Inc., is a nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment provider based in Costa Mesa. Its mission is simple: people should be able to get effective treatment without paying exorbitant costs. As the organization puts it, affordable doesn't mean hurried or half-hearted.

That approach shows in how the program is built. Treatment addresses the physical, mental and social sides of addiction, and Yellowstone accepts PPO insurance alongside financing and low-cost options. The organization displays The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval, and it holds a 4 out of 4 star rating from Charity Navigator, the independent nonprofit evaluator.

A full continuum of care

Rather than discharging people as soon as primary treatment ends, Yellowstone Recovery walks clients through every stage of recovery.

Yellowstone also runs specialized programs for women, young adults ages 18 to 25 and fentanyl recovery, along with a family support group for the people closest to someone in treatment.

A new home for outpatient counseling

Outpatient care is the stage where recovery meets everyday life: people return to work, family and routines while continuing counseling. Yellowstone Recovery's new office in Orange County is dedicated to that step, giving its outpatient counseling services a space of their own.

The organization signed a five-year lease, a long-term commitment to the community it has served since 1997. For a nonprofit, finding space that fits a counseling program, a budget and a location clients can reach easily takes careful searching, which made the right space an important step in expanding access to care.
