Richard Sung

Richard Sung joined Newmark in 2020 as a Managing Director in the firm’s Orange County California office, where he specializes in the representation of Owners and Occupiers with leasing, acquisition and disposition transactions. Mr. Sung brings to his position more than 10 years of experience representing owners of boutique creative office spanning to institutional quality product. His expertise working with occupiers includes a variety of professional sectors, including foreign companies, architectural, technology, healthcare and financial services, with closings in excess of $150 Million of transaction volume.

Prior to Newmark, Mr. Sung lead the leasing team at WindWater Real Estate, a vertically integrated real estate company specializing in creative office repositioning, leasing, and eventual disposition. Mr. Sung spent the earlier part of his career as an Associate at ORION Property Partners, Inc. where he represented some of the best in class institutional landlords in the Orange County market.

Mr. Sung is deeply involved with the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, and currently serves on the board of directors for NAIOP Southern California Chapter.

Originally from Huntsville Alabama, Mr. Sung now resides in Tustin, California with his wife and daughter. In addition, he is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Education

Mr. Sung earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Sciences and Criminology from the University of California, Irvine.
