Mikus Kins

Mikus Kins is a capital markets veteran who has over 18 years of experience in both domestic and international financial markets working closely with alternative fund managers, banks, developers, and institutional and high net worth investors.

Mikus now applies his capital markets experience to business and real estate investment advisory and consulting services as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Be Commercial Realty. Mikus is both a licensed real estate broker and a registered business broker in the State of Illinois.

Previously, Mikus held senior management positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, LaSalle Bank and ABN-AMRO. While based in London, Mikus served as a Director of Bank of America Trustees Ltd. and led the Global Securities Solutions Division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, servicing a wide range of securitized products such as CLOs, CDOs, Commercial/Residential Mortgage Backed Securities and over $60 billion in Total Return Swap (TRS) portfolios.

Mikus’ current philanthropic and volunteer efforts include serving as President of the Alumni Association for Francis. W Parker School in Chicago and also serves on the school’s Board of Trustees. Mikus was also the 2020-2021 Chairman of the Chicago Association of Realtors Global Real Estate Council. In 2017 he received his designation as a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS). In addition, Mikus is the Co-Founder and President of the Latvian American Chamber of Commerce.

Mikus graduated with a dual BA in International Relations and European History from Brown University. He also received an MBA in Finance and Investment Management with minors in Real Estate and International Business from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business where he was named to several honor societies and received the Faculty Award as the top graduating student in the Finance program. Mikus has dual U.S. and E.U. citizenship and currently lives in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago with his two children.
