The Orange Mound Tower (OMT) redevelopment is centered on community reinvestment, bringing innovation and revitalization to a landmark location in one of Memphis oldest and most historic communities Orange Mound. Taking a 10 acre site that has historically been home to decades of industrial uses, OMT will bring new life and vitality to a long dormant site.
This higher and better use involves constructing a 100,000 SF commercial building that will house commercial market space, office space for innovating entrepreneurs, recording and performance venue, art gallery, co=working space, coffee shop/restaurant, literary arts/writers collaborative space, and much more. The iconic tower that looms large for miles around will be transformed into an illuminated structure housing artist live/work/exhibit space, artist residences, and a rooftop experience unparalleled in Memphis with panoramic views that extend to Downtown, the Airport, Midtown, and beyond. A second phase will include 128 apartment units situated atop a 300 space parking garage with ground level retail amenity space.
Orange Mound Tower sits at the western end of a host of public/private investments that extend down Park Avenue throughout
Orange Mound community- Porter-Leath/University of Memphis Early Childhood Academy ($15MM under construction), Red Zone Ministries Youth Development Center, and the Historic Old Melrose High School redevelopment into a senior living facility and renowned genealogy research institute ($10MM). This corridor of investment and opportunity will usher in a new day for this longstanding neighborhood’s next chapter.
