Transaction History

Since 2005 assisted the Cincinnati Public Schools, providing a full range of professional real estate assistance and especially in the disposition of selected facilities, a possibility authorized by legislation but all transactions were subject to a strict time limit to close. NAI Bergman was able in 2005 to sell three of the buildings within 5 months, netting valuable income for the Cincinnati Public Schools to use in upgrading their facilities. In 2012, he again helped sell 12 public school properties in a short period of time. He continues to represent the school district as they explore options for other surplus buildings.

Laurence also spearheaded the redevelopment of a 617,000 sf Kroger & industrial candy plant along a highway interstate and adjacent to a large mall. The property had originally been marketed as an industrial facility, but after analyzing the marketplace, the decision was made to redevelop the space into a retail center. The first tenants in the redeveloped space included Dave & Busters, Sears, Golf Galaxy and Ashley Furniture, and the client’s return was maximized. Since that time, additional tenants were added and the retail portion of the complex is full.

Laurence Bergman is well known in the commercial real estate industry of thinking out of the box and successfully finding alternative uses for special use real estate
