Vann Shank joined TenantBase in 2019 as a Senior Advisor. He was born and raised in Dallas and puts his knowledge of the market to use in assisting his clients in finding the ideal solution and location for their office/warehouse needs. His industry experience gives him the ability to negotiate favorable lease terms and minimize costs to his clients.
Vann began his career in tenant representation before moving on to landlord representation. In 2005 he went out on his own and got his Brokers License and worked on a number of projects ranging in scope from multi-door restaurant site selection for Subway Restaurant franchisees, managing site selection for hospitality and multi-family development, managing equity partners, lenders, 3rd party engineers, architects and legal professionals. In 2011, he returned to school to earn his Masters Degree in Accounting and began working with a privately held industrial property company performing financial and accounting services as a consultant.
In addition to his extensive exposure to a variety of aspects of commercial real estate, Vann was a partner in a local sports bar, and brings the experience of raising capital, opening and operating a business, as well as the challenges of expanding the concept into a second location. This experience as a business owner and tenant gives him a unique perspective that aids in helping his clients.
Vann graduated from Southern Methodist University, Cox School of Business with a B.A. in Finance (’01) and a Master of Science – Accounting (’11). He became a licensed Agent with the Texas Real Estate Commission in 2000, then going on to get his Brokers license in 2005.
Vann currently serves on the Mustang Club Board of Directors helping support the SMU Athletic Department. He is an avid college football fan, enjoys coaching his kids’ sports, hunting and fishing in his free time.
